Silver Sovereign (aka Charlie) joined our family in October 2014. I am sure that many a person overlooked this scrawny youngster, but for me there was something very special about this boy. As Charlie was slightly underdeveloped for his age, I took a conscious decision to bring him on slowly and allow him time to grow up a little. He is being schooled, but many hours are spent just hanging out together at the stable or in the paddock. This young man is brave and inquisitive, and turning out to be a quick study.
Eight months on and the transformation has been remarkable – Charlie is beautiful with loads of personality (and living up to the Cheeky Charlie nickname given to him at the yard). I enjoy and celebrate the small moments and that’s OK as this is only the start of our journey…
