The WCET would not be able to operate as successfully as we do without the wonderful help we get.

Newton Phillips, WCET Vice Chairman, spends endless hours with the Re-Homing Programme based at the Langverwagt Stables in Stellebosch.

The WCET would not be able to operate as successfully as we do without the wonderful help we get from volunteers who come to the yard to assist with the re-homing project of the horses. Under Newton’s watchful eye, they spend time with each horse going through groundwork and eventually progressing to riding under saddle. Only when Newton is satisfied with a horse’s development and progress, are we ready to find it a ‘forever’ home. We can never thank Newton enough for all the time and care he puts in to looking after the horses daily, tirelessly and with such dedication to each horse’s well-being.

Amongst our most regular team of volunteers, we extend a huge Thank You to Lily Reinhold, Brittany Penebre, Jessica Eichoff and Ella Joyce Buckley. for all the time they spend with the horses at Langverwagt Stables.

We are so lucky to have Tessa Gilbey, Secretary of the WCET Committee, who puts in more than the required time, apart from her admin job, helping Newton with the horses and sharing her expertise and love for each and every horse.

Last but not least, special thanks go to Mike and Nicci Richards who are responsible for this website, not to mention the many hours they spend with IT assistance and uploading adverts for us.
