Our mission is to take in ex-racehorses—provide them with thoughtful training, and rehome them with compassionate new owners following careful home inspections. We aim to ensure each horse finds a safe, supportive environment to thrive in their second career or retirement.

We’re always grateful for any support at WCET. Below, you’ll find a few key areas where help is needed. If you’re able to lend a hand—whether with time, skills, or resources—we’d love to hear from you. Every bit of support makes a meaningful difference to the lives of our horses.

Many of our horses arrive directly from the track, kindly donated by owners, trainers, and breeders who are committed to giving their equine athletes a fulfilling life beyond racing. Each horse is carefully assessed and given the time it needs to transition into its new chapter.

Coolio is a professional horse training facility in Paarl. It offers secure stabling, winter grass paddocks, a large arena and lunge ring, a canter track, and access to nearby wine farms for outrides. An indoor arena, hot walker, and solarium will be added soon to support winter training.
